The Astros are a Kingston, Ontario-based indie rock band known for blending elements of indie rock, power-pop, and alt-country into a melodic, guitar-driven sound shaped by strong songwriting and energetic live performances. Formed in 2018 by longtime friends who had been playing music together since their early teens, the band features Ben Granger on vocals and guitar, Andrew O’Neil on guitar, Ben Hueglin on bass, and Tim Merkley on drums. The group has become a recognizable part of Kingston’s independent music scene through performances at local venues and festivals while steadily building a reputation across Ontario. Their releases, including My Dealer Is the Internet, Sci-Fi Radio, and Just Around the Corner, showcase a mix of nostalgic rock influences and modern indie sensibilities, often described as warm, summery, and emotionally reflective.
