Steve Marriner is a Juno Award–winning Canadian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer born in Ottawa in 1984 and now based in Toronto. First recognized as a blues harmonica prodigy in his early teens, he quickly built a reputation for expressive phrasing and commanding stage presence within Canada’s blues scene. He is a founding member of the acclaimed trio MonkeyJunk, formed in 2008, a band celebrated for its modern, gritty take on blues that earned national awards and international attention. As a solo artist, Marriner blends blues, rock, soul, and roots influences, showcasing his versatility on harmonica, guitar, and vocals. His albums, including Hope Dies Last and Hear My Heart, highlight his evolution as a songwriter, pairing raw energy with polished, emotionally resonant performances. In addition to performing, Marriner is an in-demand producer and collaborator, working with numerous respected artists across Canada. Known for dynamic live shows and musical depth, he remains a powerful force in contemporary Canadian blues.
