Luicidal is a Venice Beach–bred hardcore punk and crossover thrash group formed in 2012 in Venice by several key architects of the early Suicidal Tendencies sound. Built around bassist and songwriter Louiche Mayorga and drummer R. J. Herrera—both central figures in Suicidal Tendencies’ foundational 1980s lineup—the band channels the raw aggression, street-level attitude, and skate-punk DNA that defined the original Venice hardcore movement. Joined by guitarist Rocky George and vocalist Mando Ochoa, Luicidal markets itself as “the OGs of Suicidal Tendencies,” reviving the spirit of the genre’s formative era while delivering new material steeped in thrash riffs, rapid-fire rhythms, and politically charged punk energy. Their debut self-titled album Luicidal (2014) introduced fans to this revitalized lineup, while the 2018 release Born in Venice expanded the band’s catalog with new songs alongside reinterpretations of early Suicidal Tendencies classics co-written by Mayorga. With relentless touring across North America and Europe, Luicidal has cultivated a devoted following among longtime hardcore fans and younger listeners seeking an authentic connection to the gritty West Coast punk scene that helped shape skate culture, thrash metal, and modern crossover punk.
